Reason # 18: TEEP encourages me to connect more deeply with myself, as I learn from and enjoy getting to know people who are really different from me.

When I came to TEEP, I was the kid who was partially close-minded and didn’t know how to accept or understand people who were different from me in terms of interests, backgrounds, etc.

It did take some time, but I feel that through TEEP I have learned to “look deeper,” which is one of our mantras, and begin to understand people and be more accepting rather than merely tolerant. Learning that helped me to gain new friends whose differences I really appreciate. Having people around that are different from you offers a chance to see things with a new type of freshness.
